Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi participated in the 1st ASEAN Bowling Tournament 2010

            On 5 June 2010, H.E. Mr. Somchai Charanasomboon, Thai Ambassador to the UAE led Embassy’s officials and staffs as well as their families to participate in the 1st ASEAN Bowling Tournament 2010 at Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi per coordination of the Philippines Embassy. This was pursuant to the meeting of ASEAN Ambassadors in the UAE which consisted of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, held earlier this year to discuss about the establishment of ASEAN Committee in Abu Dhabi, the means to promote ASEAN visibility and credibility in the UAE, and the initiative to strengthen relations among the member missions by beginning with a sporting activity.

            The event has led to closer ties among officials and staffs of ASEAN member Embassies in Abu Dhabi as well as the presence and acceptance of ASEAN community and its activities in the UAE.
